The new Alpine series shows stories from everyday life in Zermatt. And with talented actresses and actors in the roles of their lives.
Benny is a Polish coldblood – and he really does come from Poland! The five-year-old coldblood is calm, reliable and an absolute sweetheart. Previously, he’s carried wood, worked as a farm horse, and pulled carriages in Poland and Zurich. He has been delivering packages in Zermatt for Alpin Cargo since 2019.
The company isn’t only responsible for local logistics – it also delivers packages of up to 30 kg on behalf of Planzer Parcel. And now Benny carries people as well as packages. Horsepower by Planzer.
Part horse, part donkey – that’s Lina. The mule from Valais is a hybrid – the offspring of a female horse and a male donkey – which means it can’t have young of its own. Lina comes from France, and being a hybrid means that she can’t have children herself. But she’s intelligent, sure-footed and extremely curious. And she’s Benny’s best friend. Lina has been broken in and is now used for riding and as a pack animal.
She’s full of energy and loves to lead Benny on adventures both planned and spontaneous. Lina can do anything – except be alone.
Tourists may think that Christian comes from Zermatt, but we know better. He’s from Täsch, and that’s totally different – it’s a whole five kilometres away. But Christian still knows Zermatt like the back of his hand. He worked as a team lead for luggage/freight traffic/shunt services on the Matterhorn Gotthard Bahn railway for many years.
Today, he’s the head of Alpin Cargo’s Zermatt site. With stoic patience, he serves as the link between local authorities, tourism services, employees, vets, blacksmiths and everyone else looking out for Benny’s welfare.
